One of the biggest challenges when firing through glass is the unpredictable deflection the bullet may take after penetration. Conventional full metal jacket bullets with lead cores go through glass, but are fragmented by the hard and brittle target medium. As a result, the shooter misses the target and endangers uninvolved bystanders. The challenge is to hit targets behind an angled window or wind shield without the risk of unpredictable bullet deflection. The flat and sharp edged bullet tip was designed to properly hit the surface of angled glass and penetrate by staying in the line of fire.
