The Element Theos 2-10x42 is a MPVO (Mid Power Variable Optic) packed with all the cutting-edge features required for rapid target engagement. The ED optical system provides an image worthy of the Theos name, while the MPR-1D reticle with diffractive illumination technology ensures you have a clear aim point across the entire zoom range, in all lighting conditions.
As with the 6-36 Theos, this model features their flagship RevTrak turret with integrated revolution indicator & Zero Stop, shrunk down to a low-profile design. The parallax adjusts down to 10 meters, with the quickset detent providing tactile feedback at the 100m mark for rapid adjustment in high-pressure situations. The ultimate MPVO has arrived with the Element Theos 2-10x42.
This is the scope the modern shooter has been waiting for.
MPR-1D RETICLE
DESIGN FEATURES
MPR Stands for "Mid-Power Reticle". This reticle is designed specifically to get the best out of mid-power magnification ranges, with features that enhance performance at both the low end and the high end of the available range.
INTELLIGENT FLOATING FEATURES
The fine center dot provides a precise point, while the thicker floating cross just outside it remains clearly visible even at minimum zoom. The floating cross also creates finer 0.25 MRAD divisions along both axes, allowing for more precise holds close to the center without the need for extra hashes. The Christmas Tree uses thicker crosses to mark full MRAD hold points, making them visible at lower magnifications, while the smaller 1/2 MRAD dots disappear as you zoom out.
NUMBERED MARKINGS
Numbers on the vertical axis allow shooters to quickly find hold points under pressure.
TAPERED BARS
Bars on the left, right & bottom of the reticle taper out to the edge of your field of view, drawing your eye to the center at all magnifications without becoming too thick or thin. New to this reticle: the tapered section extends deep into the main reticle itself, thickening the line closer to the center and making it more visible.
Who Should Use the Theos 2-10×42?
This scope bridges the gap between traditional hunting optics and long-range precision scopes. It’s ideal for:
- Practical/tactical competitions, where shooters must engage targets at varying distances quickly.
- Hunters, especially those pursuing game in dense terrain where rapid target acquisition is important but shots may extend to medium ranges.
- Law-enforcement and military marksmen looking for a durable, compact optic with consistent subtensions.

Element Theos 2-10 FAQs
Is the Theos 2-10×42 suitable for long-range shooting?
While its magnification tops out at 10×, the FFP MPR-1D reticle and precise adjustments make it capable of medium-range engagements. For extreme distances, consider the Theos 6-36×56.
How does ED glass improve my view?
ED glass minimizes chromatic aberration to deliver sharp, color-accurate images and resists temperature-induced distortion, ensuring consistent clarity in varying conditions.
What’s the difference between the Theos 2-10×42 and the Theos 6-36×56?
The 2-10×42 offers faster target acquisition for medium-range engagements, while the 6-36×56 provides higher magnification for long-range precision.
