Firearm Transfer and Return Policy

Mile High Shooting Accessories (“MHSA”) is not a firearm storage facility. This policy applies to all firearms shipped or delivered to MHSA, including firearms sent without prior authorization.

Prior Authorization

Customers must obtain prior written authorization before having a firearm shipped to MHSA by contacting FFL@milehighshooting.com.

Because MHSA receives many deliveries each day, acceptance of a sealed package from UPS, FedEx, or another carrier does not mean MHSA authorized or agreed to complete the transfer.

Shipment Information and Documentation

Customers must ensure that the shipping dealer includes the intended recipient’s full name and contact information with the shipment.

Any firearm or suppressor received without sufficient customer-identifying information will be rejected or returned to the originating dealer.

Any NFA item received without the required transfer paperwork will be rejected and returned to the originating dealer.

Initial Notification and 30-Day Deadline

After a firearm is received, opened, identified, recorded, secured, and processed, MHSA will notify the intended recipient using the contact information provided with the shipment.

All deadlines under this policy begin on the date of MHSA’s initial notification to the intended recipient.

Within 30 calendar days, the customer must:

  • Complete all required paperwork and background-check procedures;
  • Meet all federal, state, and local eligibility and documentation requirements;
  • Pay all applicable fees; and
  • Take lawful possession of any Title 1 firearm.

For an NFA firearm, the customer must complete and file the required ATF Form 4 transfer application within the same 30-day period. An NFA firearm may remain at MHSA while a timely filed Form 4 is pending approval.

Any extension or other arrangement must be approved in writing by MHSA ownership before the applicable deadline.

Transfer Fees

  • Title 1 Firearms: $75 for the first firearm
  • Successive Title 1 firearms received at the same time: $15 each
  • NFA Firearms: $175 for the first firearm
  • Successive NFA firearms received at the same time: $25 each

Transfer fees apply to authorized and unauthorized shipments once MHSA has received, opened, identified, recorded, secured, and processed the firearm.

Return After 30 Days

Title 1 firearms not lawfully transferred within 30 calendar days after MHSA’s initial notification will be returned to the originating Federal Firearms Licensee.

NFA firearms for which the required ATF Form 4 has not been filed within 30 calendar days after MHSA’s initial notification will be returned to the originating Federal Firearms Licensee.

MHSA is not responsible for refunds, restocking fees, original shipping charges, purchase-price differences, or any other amounts owed by the seller or originating FFL.

Colorado Magazine Compliance

Colorado law generally limits magazine capacity to 15 rounds, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

If an order contains magazines that are not compliant with Colorado law, MHSA will withhold those magazines unless the intended recipient qualifies for an applicable law-enforcement exception.

MHSA will not alter, permanently modify, block, pin, disassemble, or otherwise convert a non-compliant magazine to make it compliant. MHSA will not ship non-compliant magazines to an alternate address, dealer, or other location for pickup.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for confirming, before shipment, that they possess all licenses, permits, identification, training records, eligibility credentials, and other documentation required to lawfully receive the firearm and any included magazines.

MHSA will not complete an unlawful transfer and is not responsible for delays caused by a customer’s inability to meet applicable transfer requirements, including requirements relating to specified semiautomatic firearms.

By arranging shipment, requesting transfer services, or otherwise accepting services from MHSA, the customer acknowledges and agrees to this policy.
