Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) completed an extensive evaluation process and chose Hornady Critical Duty® 9mm+P 135 gr FTX pistol ammunition as its contracted service ammunition.

The patented Hornady® Flex Tip® design of the FlexLock® bullet eliminates clogging and aids bullet expansion. A large mechanical jacket-to-core InterLock® band works to keep the bullet and core from separating for maximum weight retention, excellent expansion and consistent penetration and terminal performance through all FBI test barriers.

The FlexLock® is an “intelligent bullet” that reacts differently depending on the barrier it encounters, delivering “barrier blind” performance after penetrating urban barriers such as plywood, sheet metal and even auto glass.

Bright nickel plated cases eliminate cartridge case tarnish, and the highly visible silver nickel simplifies chamber checks in reduced light. Additionally, all Critical DUTY® ammunition is loaded with low flash propellant to help preserve night vision in low-light firing.

    Make sure your firearm is rated for +P ammo before using this ammo. My experience shows this works good in multiple firearms including rifles chambered in 9mm. Some model firearms were more accurate with this grain weight. Use of standard velocity rated ammo in all platforms is recommended for practice and most applications. Test each firearm for reliability and accuracy before relying on this particular load. Hornady Critical Duty® is now my ammo of choice for (if the time comes situations). Hornady 90238: 9mm Luger 135 gr FMJ - TAP Training, 50/Box is a great practice round because the shape closely mimics the CRITICAL DUTY® 9MM and it is cheaper, allowing you to practice more and keep proficient. I highly recommend this ammo in all of it's versions.

    Mile High had the best competitive price I’ve seen in the rarely advertised 50-count packaging. Once credentials were verified I received my products that were well-packaged and without damage. I rely on the 135-grain +P as it is my duty approved ammunition chambered in a Glock 17.
