Choosing Between Nightforce NX6 Magnification Ranges

Identify your primary engagement distances and determine if your application requires fast handling at short range or high resolution for extreme distances.

  • NX6 1-6x24 or NX6 2-12x42 for speed: These models are best suited for carbines, tactical training, and stalking in thick timber where rapid target acquisition is priority.
  • NX6 3-18x50 or NX6 4-24x50 for versatility: These are ideal for multi-purpose precision rifles and hunters who need a balance of weight and long range reach.
  • NX6 5-30x56 or NX6 6-36x56 for precision: These models are optimized for competitive shooting and extreme long range hunting where identifying targets at 1,000 yards is required.

Selecting the Right Focal Plane and Reticle

Determine your focal plane requirements based on how you use reticle subtensions.

  • Choose a First Focal Plane (FFP) model if you need reticle subtensions to remain accurate at every magnification setting.
  • Choose a Second Focal Plane (SFP) model if you prefer a consistent, easy-to-see reticle size regardless of your zoom level.
