The center is where the shooter adjusts the sling for the carry length. It can be removed and connected to itself for easy storage, allowing the remaining two sections of the sling to attach like a carry strap with the shooting loop still in place. The reasons for the two buckles are two fold. First, it allows the shooter to get out of the sling quickly with an accessible buckle you can unclip in order to get the rifle into action quickly. Second, it is designed to allow the removal of a rifle from an injured soldier in case he is incapacitated.
The rear section of the sling is a 5" section of webbing that is three layers triple stitched and is stiff enough to use as a hasty rear support.
Features:
- Adjustable loop for shooting support
- Industrial grade webbing and buckles
- Available with heavy duty swivel, HK hook, flush cup swivel attachments, or no attachments
- (Optional) AustriAlpin COBRA Buckles (rated for 4000 pounds)

Great product
Quality construction. The Cobra buckles may be overkill, make noise when they hit up against things, and the flush cups may be faster to undo the sling. Mile High is great to do business with. I had ordered the wrong sling which they exchanged with no hassle. The price of my AX 338 LM was exceptional. I will continue to do business with them, as they are very professional and helpful.
